Our Story
Born Out of Frustration at the Pump
Cut California Taxes Now was founded by California drivers, homeowners, and small business owners who were tired of paying the highest gas prices in the nation with no explanation and no relief in sight.
After years of watching the state's gas tax increase automatically — without a single legislative vote — and seeing cap-and-trade surcharges quietly added to every gallon, our founders decided it was time to organize.
We started by doing the research: compiling the data, reading the legislation, and mapping exactly which policies were driving prices up. Then we built this platform to share that research with every Californian who wants to understand the problem — and do something about it.
